Mata ‘Eyes’ Ariki : ‘High Chief or God’ : MATARIKI

This upcoming 8 date tour is in celebration of Matariki, the Māori New Year and to showcase Rei’s latest album Ariki. Traveling through Aotearoa, from Tāmaki to Te Wai Pounamu, Rei can’t wait to share his waiata kanikani (dance music) and party with the people.

His last tour was for his award-winning album ‘The Bridge’. Always in mahi hard mode, Rei has dropped 3 new albums since then, played across the world, won 3 Māori music awards, earning millions of streams and radio hits since this tour… but nothing beats performing to your home country. Rei’s Matariki tour will start with local support acts, followed by Rei’s full high energy set, topped off with a DJ set featuring remixed te reo music.

It's time for us to say "ThankYOU". The support we as a venue and a Whānau have had throughout lock down blew us all away. This gig is to show our appreciation. The crew that will jam have donated their time. After the RSVP cut off date, all ticket sales will go to these artists.

Check out Chur!Coal BBQ & Eatery in the latest UNO Magazine. A huge thank you the team for making it happen!

As you all know the country has fallen into lockdown due to the Covid 19 virus. We will endeavour to keep you updated on happenings within the music industry, and will let you know as soon as we are back on our feet with the rest of you. Stay safe everyone. Peace!

Folk Pop Reggae Rock Soul New School

And that is a wrap team... 2019 done and dusted. Everyone jumped up on stage yesterday and smashed it out of the park. It is not easy getting up in front of a venue full of people and putting it out there. We are so proud of all of MauaoPAC's students for a very entertaining afternoon @ TOTARA ST.

Reggae Rock R&B Soul

For the first time since TOTARA ST's inception we have three back to back shows with the same artist. Almost like a mini residency so to speak! L.A.B are bringing some serious heat to the table this April with three sold out shows back to back. Hailing from the Bay of Plenty, the locals are coming out to play. Tickets sold in record time and everyone who snagged one is in for a very special treat, this band has been on a steady rise after releasing their first self titled album in November 2017.

So you wanna be a DJ? These school holidays the records will be spinning and the bass bumping at the Mauao Performing Arts Centre, 11 Totara street, Mt Maunganui. The Aotearoa DJ Academy is introducing their popular Digital DJ 101 program from the capital city as a holiday program for all children aged 9 and above.
