LOUIS BAKER - TROUBLE ALBUM RELEASE TOUR

Acclaimed Aotearoa soul artist Louis Baker brings his Trouble Album Release Tour to Totara Street, Mount Maunganui on Friday 23 October – a full-band night of live soul music in partnership with Tauranga Arts Festival.

Critically acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Louis Baker returns with a nationwide headline tour celebrating his second studio album, Trouble, out 9 October.

Written, produced and arranged by Baker across 2024 and 2025 in his Titahi Bay studio, Trouble is rooted in timeless songwriting, blending retro-soul influences with contemporary production. Across nine songs, it’s his most assured work yet, moving between social observation and reflections on love, resilience and confronting himself.

Over the past decade, Baker has become one of New Zealand’s most distinctive contemporary soul and neo-soul artists. He’s known for captivating live shows, expressive guitar playing and rich, soulful vocals. He has toured Australia, Europe, the UK and Aotearoa, shared stages with Jordan Rakei, Allen Stone and Jamie Lidell, and most recently joined Fat Freddy’s Drop on their international tours.

The 9-date NZ tour starts with intimate solo shows before expanding into full-band performances, featuring songs from Trouble alongside favourites from his catalogue. If you’re after live soul music in Tauranga or the Bay of Plenty this October, this is the one.
