KIDS MUSIC JAM - School Holiday Programme
MONDAY 2ND TIL FRIDAY 6TH OF OCTOBER 2023
Join us for Mauao Performing Arts Centre's brand new Kids Music Jam - "Music Around the World" holiday programme!
Kids aged 5 - 11 years old are invited to come on an exciting journey around the globe to learn about musical genres, instruments, and histories from six countries: Ireland, Austria, South Africa, Mexico, Spain, and the United States!
In this fun-filled week-long programme, your child's musical horizons will expand under the guidance of our qualified Music Tutors with 30 years of combined experience. Your child will be excited to learn about each country's unique musical history, instruments, and notable historical musicians.
This fun, educational programme will strengthen your child's understanding of rhythm, sight reading, and performance. Each day will include a "Make Your Own Instrument" craft to take home, plus hands-on, interactive opportunities to play a variety of instruments, including pianos, ukuleles, guitars, drum kits, bass, box drums, accordion, and much more!
By the end of the week, your child will know what makes an Irish jig different from a reel, how to sing in Spanish, and how to play a drum in 6/8 timing... plus heaps more!
Fun, engaging, and educational, this music jam requires no prior musical experience. Just come on down, have fun, and learn about music from around the world! Space is very limited, so enroll your child today to secure your spot!
How the day/s will look:
Drop off: 9:00am
Pickup: 2:45pm
Each enrolee should bring their own morning tea and lunch box.
The centre will provide water.
